Omar S cohort Leonard Strickland busts his first move since last year's magnificent Simple Pleasures EP. Unleashed on his own 7days ENT. label, this is purest, unadulterated Detroit. Twisted Faith is classic house music to the marrow, from its rubberised bassline to its skittering percussion. The vocal (Faith Evans, snatched from A Tribe Called Quest's Stressed Out) is perfection. 2 Track warms the cockles of the soul with its lilting pianos. Best of all, perhaps, is the majestic Elixer, its synth stabs simple, but oh-so effective. This is a lesson. Pay attention at the back.
