Daft Punk have a lot to answer for. Mostly for unspeakable acts committed against vocals on 'One More Time' and influencing others to do similar. The Shapeshifters are the latest in a long line of shame, here doing things so heinous to Steve Edwards even his own mum would have a hard job recognising him. The tricky part is that, just like 'One More Time', 'Helter Skelter' is actually annoyingly infectious thanks to a catchy and commercial stabbed bleepy key hook along with which Edwards delivers a staccato, hurried vocal; think somewhere in the region of Tom Novy's 'Your Body' and Outwork's 'Electro'. Disposable yes, but good fun while it lasts.
