Time Is Now

Sometimes I've admired Radio Slave from afar, but generally I wouldn't say I've been a fan. Any more like this however and that will change, for the mix here is an exquisitely crafted deep groove that crosses the boundaries of proper deep house, classic techno and pure electronica, all anchored by a sturdy bottom end, sparse but incisive percussion and a host of atmospheric effects in over ten minutes of shyly restrained beauty. Following that with the original may not be entirely comfortable for Jamie Anderson, but the truth is that his version isn't at all bad itself, a strangely strangulated string sound (think 'You Don't Know Me' but even more so) making up the top line and a warm bassline providing the raw deepness used as a springboard by Radio Slave. An excellent release.
