With 2015’s ‘Them Changes’ still commanding heavy rotation, Thundercat follows his yacht rock opus with another slice of West Coast-inspired power pop. Reminiscent of Steely Dan with a smidgen of Brian Wilson at the controls, it certainly cements his sound, which should find fans amidst the Caribou, Dan Deacon and alt. pop contingent. A fine record indeed.
