Premiere: Alex Virgo 'Stop Myself'

DJ, producer and Pomme Frite label head Alex Virgo is back with another helping of french touch-inspired house music on his new EP, 'Funk Dat'. Hear shimmering atmospherics and feel-good vocals on 'Stop Myself' now

London-based DJ and producer Alex Virgo will release a three-track EP later this month.

Launching his Pomme Frite label earlier this year with the 'Let Me Through' EP, and garnering support on the tracks from the likes of Dan Shake, Horse Meat Disco, Mella Dee and Loods, Virgo is back with his third EP for the label, 'Funk Dat'.

The producer weaves disco magic on 'Funk Dat', with each of the tracks offering infectious basslines, timeless groove and skewed samples. From the opening minutes of the whirlwind title track to the syrupy sampled goodness of 'Lady Italia', Virgo's productions are an authentic nod to the french touch period where he draws inspiration.

A standout from the release is 'Stop Myself', a sample-heavy disco number, with lovelorn lyrics littered throughout shimmering atmospherics, perfect for conjuring chaotic energy on the dancefloor.
