Premiere: Black Jazz Consortium ‘Another Path’

Fred P revives his Black Jazz Consortium project with a new album of lush house inspired by traditional Brazilian sounds. Hear ‘Another Path’ now

Fred P will release ‘Evolution of Light’, his first full-length Black Jazz Consortium LP since 2013, on 7th November.

Across 12 tracks, the Queens-born, Berlin-based deep house legend delivers a typically sophisticated electronic trip. With added contributions and instrumentation drawing from Brazilian music present throughout, it’s another spellbinding collection of masterfully crafted grooves. The album will be released through Fred Peterkin’s own Perpetual Sound label.

‘Evolution of Light’ has been described by Peterkin as a direct response to his 2007 Black Jazz Consortium LP, ‘RE:Actions Of Light’. “There has been a lot of growth since my first album,” he wrote in an official statement. “I wanted to answer with a follow up that is honest, and along the way Brazil became a focus, so here we are.”

You can hear the album’s lush second track, ‘Another Path’, below now.
