Premiere: Bolam 'Forgot My Brain'

Scottish collective and label MELD follow up last year's VA compilation with a new EP from DJ and producer, Bolam. Listen to the nostalgia-tinged, high-octane rave energy of 'Forgot My Brain' now

Bolam will release a four-track EP via MELD later this month.

The Scottish collective, who launched their label in 2019 with a VA compilation, featuring tracks from Alex R, Hampton, and Willy, present their second release from native DJ and producer Jack Hardie, AKA Bolam.

Shortly after moving from Shetland to Edinburgh to study sound production, Bolam self-released his first EP, 'Artificial Flavours'. Now, moving in 2020, Bolam has readied his next release, 'Break Yo' Self', incoming on the 29th February.

After uploading the track online last summer, the EP's intense, break-heavy title track was picked up for mixes by Solid Blake, and the full EP features remixes from MELD affiliates Willy and Sputnik One.

Alongside the A1, 'Forgot My Brain' delivers lashings of nostalgia-infused rave energy. With fast-paced, percussion-led opening minutes, the track spirals into warped vocal samples and a breakdown reminiscent of early '90s productions from The Prodigy and SL2.
