Premiere: DJ Nobu ‘Spring’

DJ Tennis’ Life and Death label readies its second ‘Displaced Soundtracks’ comp with DJ Nobu, Midland, Vatican Shadow and more. Hear DJ Nobu’s ‘Spring’ now...

DJ Tennis’ revered Life and Death label will release its second ‘Displaced Soundtracks’ compilation on 25th January.

Featuring tracks from DJ Nobu, Midland, Vatican Shadow, Ninos Du Brasil, Uchi Scuba and more, it’s a pretty star studded line-up for the atmospheric and varied “soundtrack” cuts for a chosen or imagined film. Uchi's contribution, for instance, is a cover of 'Rachel's Song' from Vangelis original Blade Runner soundtrack.

“The score is a translation of our imagination,” explains DJ Tennis – real name Manfredi Romano – in the comp’s press release. “Memories and emotions into music, with no protocols."

Getting to hear producers like Midland and Vatican Shadow going down a transportive ambient route on the stunning ‘First Tube’ and ‘He Held The Victims Responsible (Luxor)’ is a real treat, while Scuba and Ninos Du Brasil are on equally reserved form on the luxurious ‘Love Theme’ andw ‘Nocturno Culto’.

The incomparable DJ Nobu steps up with ‘Spring’, a deep and dizzying minimal cut which drops the listener right into the depth of an imagined jungle with its organic samples and dense atmosphere.

‘Displaced Soundtracks Vol. 2’ will be released on 25th January. Pre-order it here.
