Premiere: Elkka ‘Talkin’’

Femme Culture founder Elkka announces her ‘Full Circle’ EP. ‘Talkin’’ closes the four-track release with jolting percussion, rich melodies and deft sampling...

Femme Culture founder Elkka will release her new ‘Full Circle’ EP through the collective’s label on 19th October.

The recent DJ Mag Fresh Kicks selector has, along with co-founder Ludo Guerrieri, has been championing female-identifying talent in the UK and promoting equal opportunities across all formats since launching the collective/label in 2016.

Now, the DJ/producer readies her new four-track release, her first new music since August’s ‘Stay (Warm Edit)’. Inspired by feminist icon, journalist, and social political activist Gloria Steinem, ‘Full Circle’ is Elkka’s most urgent and triumphant work to date. Full of colourful rhythms and melodies and tough dancefloor dynamism these four tracks are some of the most vibrant and organic club tracks we’ve heard in months.

‘Talkin’’ is testament to that, closing out the EP with sharp vocal samples – and a closing message on an ambient backdrop from an unnamed speaker – the track is dramatic and euphoric with the same rhythmic zeal as fellow femme culture member Ehua’s ‘New Moon’.

You can find Elkka on Soundcloud. Keep up to date with all things femme culture here.
