Premiere: HØST ‘Survive (Om Unit Remix)’

NAINA and SHERELLE’s Hooversound continues its fierce ascent with an EP of disjointed experimental dubstep from emerging UK producer HØST.  Hear Om Unit’s ferocious half-time remix of A-Side ‘Survive’ now

HØST is up next on NAINA and Sherelle’s Hooversound.

The emerging UK producer’s EP marks the much-hyped label’s third outing, following incendiary EPs from Hyroglifics & Sinistarr and Deft, and will drop on 21st August. With two original cuts from HØST, and a remix from Cosmic Bridge boss Om Unit, it’s a three course feast of bassweight, tailor-made for big soundsystems in dark rooms.

HØST’s original cuts are ice cold. Disjointed dubstep beats lurch and lunge on ‘Survive’, while ‘Passive’ is built on layers of dizzy polyrhythms and warped distortion, sounding like a moment of weird ecstasy on the stroll from Room 1 and 2.

The EP finishes up with a typically huge cut from Bristol-based Om Unit, whose remix of ‘Survive’ is a huge portion of halftime heft. You can hear that below.
