Premiere: Jaymie Silk ‘Don’t Go ft. Lia’

Jaymie Silk glides from gabber and melodic techno into R&B and electronic ballads on his new album, ‘Young, Broke and Fabulous’. Hear the emotional dancefloor pulse of ‘Don’t Go ft. Lia’ now

Jaymie Silk will release his new album ‘Young, Broke and Fabulous’ on 27th April via Belgium’s Pelican Fly label.

Across nine tracks recorded while living in Montreal, the Paris-based producer, DJ and songwriter moves a step away from the percussive club sound that made up his last EP, ‘The Legend of Jack Johnson’ on Shall Not Fade. With symphonic instrumentation, lush electronic melodies and full-bodied beats, the producer glides from R&B and experimental pop into gabber and melodic techno with a slick compositional flow, incorporating his own vocals and guest contributions to capture a generational snapshot.

“Beyond a world of anxiety, toxic and hyper consumption, this album wants to be the image of a whole generation, carried by an optimistic message,” says Silk of the release.

Below, you can hear ‘Don’t Go’, an emotive, pulsing dancefloor-driven cut, which features vocals from Montreal’s LIA. “This song is an analogy of toxic relationships, of letting go, as Lia, who sings on the song, suggests,” says Silk. “At a time when everyone wants to return to the world before, instead of shouting ‘Don't Go’, we must learn to let go.”
