Premiere: Lo Shea ‘Activation’

Hope Works Sheffield head honcho Lo Shea readies his ‘Activation / Pressure’ EP on DEXT Recordings. ‘Activation’ is an urgent, drum-led techno hammer...

Lo Shea will release his ‘Activation / Pressure’  EP via London’s DEXT Recordings tomorrow 19th October.

Following EPs on Rekids and Dusky’s 17 Steps the Sheffield-based DJ/producer and Hope Works’ club honcho’s third release of 2018 is a typically riotous, percussive techno outing.

It’s been a big year for Lo Shea – or Liam O’Shea, to the taxman – and Hope Works in general. This month saw another successful edition of No Bounds festival taking place with the venue at its core. Not only that, but Hope Works has hosted a plethora of nights throughout the year featuring incredible artists like Helena Hauff, Errorsmith (Live), Peder Mannerfelt (Live), Shyboi and Eris Drew to name but a few. Back in February, we caught up with Lo Shea as part of our Podcast series to talk about all things Hope Works and about the Sheffield sound.

‘Activation / Pressure’ is yet another razor sharp strings in O’Shea’s bow, and the opening track is an urgent, drum-led techno hammer tailor-made for the darkened expanse of a club floor. Check it out below.
