Premiere: Nightwave 'Monkey Puzzle'

Glasgow scene staple Nightwave makes her label debut on MUSAR with 'The Journey'. Listen to psychedelic acid synths weave in and out of rainforest sounds on the EP's B-side opener, 'Monkey Puzzle', now

Nightwave will release a new EP later this month.

The Glasgow-based artist follows up her 'Rainbow Body' release on Dixon Avenue Basement Jams with a four-tracker, incoming on the 27th September via MUSAR, the Amsterdam imprint that describes itself as home to "ancient music for the future".

Aptly titled 'The Journey', Nightwave's latest release is produced in her typically vivacious and vibrant style, presenting the signature "rainforest rave" aesthetic that has become synonymous with the producer. From the breezy atmospherics of the title track to the rhythmic percussion of 'Jiboia Groove', the EP weaves through kaleidoscopic techno landscapes.

On the B-side opener, 'Monkey Puzzle', the pounding chug of drums is enveloped by bubbling acid synth, melting into found sounds of the rainforest, before the acid storm takes back control in the track's final minutes.

The EP also features a remix from Naive founder Violet, who puts a warped spin on 'The Journey'.
