Premiere: TEEN ‘Monet’

Bristol’s Illegal Data returns with a collection of hyperactive, high-definition pop mutations and club experiments from TEEN. Hear the sugar-rush trap beat and warped electronics of ‘Monet’ now

Illegal Data returns next month with a new EP from TEEN.

The Bristol label and party, founded by Giant Swan’s Harry Wright AKA Mun Sing, alongside NE$$, will release its first and only EP of the year on 11th December and, jeez, what a wonderful statement it is to make this collection the imprint’s sole contribution to 2020. Across five original cuts, and a euphoric broken trance remix from Emily Glass, ‘TEEN EP’ bursts with hyperactive, high-definition pop mutations and colourful club experiments, with nods to everything from A.G cook and M.E.S.H to Pinch and Shackleton.

‘Monet’ invokes the crystalline dubstep of Hodge & Ishan Sound’s ‘C5’, before twisting and reshaping itself with a few generous pinches of melodic sugar. Check it out below.
