Premiere: Tom Ellis 'Charm Offensive'

Most renowned for his work behind the scenes for Freerotation festival, Tom Ellis's work as a producer is also pretty thrilling. Hear 'Charm Offensive' from his forthcoming EP now...

Tom Ellis will release his latest EP, 'Charm Offensive', via eclectic French label Motion Sequence on tomorrow 15th January.

The English producer is most renowned for his work behind the scenes at the cross-medium, audio-visual Freerotation Festival in Wales, but for fifteen years he's been producing some fascinatingly textured, jazz and soul-inspired electronic music, picked up and given playtime by the likes of Carl Cox, Craig Richards, and Lauren Laverne.

His upcoming EP, coming out via freshly launched French label Motion Sequence, features three original tracks and an E-Tronik remix of opening track 'Jokers & Clowns', and all display the Midlands-based Ellis's proclivity for melody-focussed house; particularly on the premiered title track, where jittery bleeps and weary keyboards interject the yawning analogue bassline at the track's centre, mesmerically looped without ever becoming repetitive. Check it out below.
