Ireland’s TR One will release his new EP, ‘The Swim Meet’ on Canadian label Solar Phenomena on 15th January.
Following releases on Apartment Records, Lunar Disko and Don’t Be Afraid, the Carlow producer/DJ’s new release features three new original cuts plus a remix of the title track from Dublin-based Italian Lerosa.
The title track – which you can hear below – is an apt and engaging next step following 2017’s ‘A Month Has Passed’ on Don’t Be Afraid, a velvety deep house cut that opened out wonderfully with a soft cascading marimba lead. Hints of that are heard on ‘The Swim Meet’, which retains a subdued atmosphere and delicate sense of melody but trades the deep house backdrop for a more outwardly hardware-led electro beat and smoky acid bassline. Paired with the lush ‘Fog And Chocolate’, the melancholic ‘Expectations Of Love’ and Lerosa’s remix this EP is a winter essential.
