In A Syrian Tongue

Blackest Ever Black
If you can look beyond the guff spouted by BEB , they deserve kudos for releasing the first Regis record in a few years. Like the Birmingham producer's Kalon release on Sandwell District, 'Blood Witness' revolves around dense, broken beats. The key difference, though, is that the underlying textures are evocative of an Eastern bazaar, with half-heard codas and recorders droning away, while O'Connor's version with Mick Harris follows a more experimental, looser rhythmic approach.
