Throw In Dirt

The man in the red mask delivers all of his signature sounds for Martyn's label - menacing basslines, eerie synths and steely drums - but something doesn't feel quite right. Maybe it's the use of ponderous vocal samples on both tracks, or the fact that 'Throw In Dirt' and 'The Land' lack the dynamism required to reach the heady climax that their constituent parts promise. Even the best producers have an off-day, and this is one of Redshape's rare slip-ups.
