Beating away the winter blues is Uzuri, whose latest venture is a series of releases that focuses on leftfield sounds. The first artist to contribute is Stump Valley. 'Quazar' is all sparkly keys and warm, fluid bass licks, like Aril Brikha slowed down and force fed Valium. 'Caruso’ is much more reflective, while the more uptempo ‘Down the Dirt Road’ revolves around crashing cymbals, a hypnotic double bass and upbeat key tinkling. It’s an impressive debut.
