With two entities of such long-standing history, it’s easy to see where the dispensation-of-duty lies on ‘Es Vedra’. That’s as pleasing as anything: it’s audibly a collaboration in the truest sense of the word. The early acid bubbles and break’s castaway strings are A&F all over. Its instinctive, catalysing key changes, wistfully lamenting sub-riffs and pre-eminent bottom-end oomph are the hallmark of Helstrip. An outstanding two (or three!) hander, ‘Es Vedra’ is even more than the sum of its considerable parts.
