Van Dyk’s collaboration choices are wilfully hard to predict. Really though, hands up who saw this one coming? Synergy-wise it works remarkably well, and ‘Galaxy’s studio demarcation lines are crystal. Front end, through Vini Vici’s hallmark ethnic chants and loopily looping sub-riffs, it amasses psy ether aplenty. Underneath, PvD’s bass pulses, working up towards a melodically analogue, almost Jarre-esque synth line which, developing all the way to the top-of-the-drop, proves stirringly alchemic in effect.
