300 PEOPLE ARRESTED AT HARD DAY OF THE DEAD

More than 300 people have been arrested at Live Nation's HARD Day Of The Dead festival in Southern California over the weekend, the LA Times reports. 

In a statement released by the Pomona Police Department, 148 people were arrested on Saturday, whilst another 162 people were detained on Sunday, with over 40,000 party-goers in attendance across the two-day event. 

Most ravers were arrested for “public intoxication, being under the influence of a controlled substance, and the possession of a controlled substance for personal use or for the purpose of sales," the official police statement reads. 

100 festival-goes were reportedly arrested for having fake identification — HARD recently implemented new age restrictions, raising the minimum festival entry age from 18 to 21. 

In a bid to further increase public safety, Live Nation also capped crowds at 40,000 a day, instead of last year's 65,000 per day limit, following the death of two teenagers at their summer edition, HARD Summer, in August. 

Live Nation also initially announced that it would not grant media credentials for HARD's Day Of The Dead event, but revoked the media blackout shortly before the festival took place.
