ADE has added Irvine Welsh, Nina Kraviz, Ricardo Villalobos, and Charlotte de Witte

Amsterdam's annual mega-festival is almost here

ADE has added Irvine Welsh, Nina Kraviz, Ricardo Villalobos, and Charlotte de Witte to its enormous list of names for 2017, as the biggest event in the international dance music calendar draws ever closer.

Running from 18th-22nd October this year, ADE- or Amsterdam Dance Event- is part conference, part unfathomably huge session, with addresses across the Dutch capital used for discussions, meetings, workshops and performances. 2,500 artists will be involved in the coming edition, with 140 locations set to be used during the five days.

The latest confirmed names includes DJ Mag's UK cover star for September, the Belgian techno dame Charlotte de Witte, alongside Nina Kraviz, Ricardo Villalobos, Helena Hauff, Jon Hopkins, Maceo Plex, and Armin van Buuren, who will perform back to back with Hardwell for the first time, at Amsterdam Arena on the Saturday night.

Those looking for something to keep them out of trouble by day could do worse than taking in events with electronic pioneer Gary Numan, Trainspotting author Irvine Welsh in conversation with our Global Editor, Carl Loben, EDM don Martin Garrix, and Nadya Tolokonnikova, of Russia's politicised all-girl outfit, Pussy Riot. Thankfully, considering how much there is going on, the ADE website is well-designed, with an intuitive mobile app also there for attendees on the go.
