Akai add new features to MPC X and Live

The new firmware update makes the new range even more powerful...

Akai have announced a major firmware update for their new MPC range including the MPC Live and MPC X. The new 2.0.5 update includes Ableton Link support, time stretching and audio warping on individual drum pads, improved program and audio editing, Bluetooth MIDI compatibility and enhanced support for external storage for files. There's a new list editor for any old skool users who remember tweaking lists in DAWs!

Flattening pads allows you render your FX, treatments and layering back down to a single pad to save space and CPU, and there's lots more features too.

The new update adds even more features to an already hefty new MPC range that now operates entirely without a computer. The MPC X and Live can both be used in standalone modes as well as controllers for the Akai MPC software or as a MIDI controller for any standard DAW.
