Anetha announces debut album, ‘Mothearth’, shares single: Listen

Message-charged first single, 'Sorry For Being Sexy', has already landed

Anetha debut album Mothearth

French techno DJ and producer Anetha has announced her debut album, 'Mothearth'. You can listen to the first single below.

Slated to arrive via her own Mama Told Ya imprint on 20th March 20204, the ten-track LP has been described as the culmination of a decade-long journey through nightlife and electronic music. Elements of house, drum & bass, trance, and hardcore all feature, while simultaneously exploring questions about stereotypes, misogyny, and the inner workings of both industry and 'scene'.

Ahead of the full package landing, Anetha has unveiled the first single, which presents her message in a clear form. 'Sorry For Being So Sexy' is branded "a resounding fuck you" aimed at those who want to put people and music into boxes. A defiant shrug of the shoulders to the hyper-criticism that often follows female artists in DJ booths and recording studios.

News of 'Mothearth' comes shortly after the 20 track Mama Told Ya compilation, 'Mille attaques, les vents contrèrent', which featured work from the likes of Boys Noize, Zoë Mc Pherson, Benjamin Damage, Uncrat and Cerrot. In 2020, Anetha contributed to DJ Mag's flagship mix series, On Cue. You can read the interview and check her full-throttle selections here
