ANNA announces new album, ‘Intentions’, shares single: Listen

ANNA has announced details of her upcoming debut album, 'Intentions'.

The Brazilian-born, Lisbon-based DJ and producer will release the LP on 19th May via her new label Mercury KX.

Recorded at ANNA's own Anaweth Studio, the seven-track ambient electronic release - which is angled as an immersive meditation experience - is "to be experienced as a journey for healing and growth,' and features collaborations with ambient pioneer Laraaji, as well as the likes of contemporary classical artist East Forest.

The album will also feature remixes by Max Cooper and Jon Hopkins. Off the back of remixing Orbital's classic 'Belfast,' ANNA teamed up with Hopkins last summer for a new version of the latter's 2021 track 'Deep In The Glowing Heart'.

Speaking about the album, ANNA said: “INTENTIONS captures the purest longing for the universal power of love. It’s borne out of a deep well of love that exists inside of me, and an enduring appreciation for all that we call ‘life’”.

Accompanying news of the album is its first single, 'Receiving', featuring Laraaji, which you can stream below.

As part of a "listening guide" to the ANNA written by ANNA, the DJ and producer said the following about 'Receiving':  "Let it go. Let it be. Let it arrive. Just like it’s meant to. Release the need to try, and allow whatever comes to flow in. Receiving the totality of your experience, without controlling it. No trying. No resisting. Only openness. Maybe you will encounter bliss or find deep resolution. Other times, nothing at all. Simply surrender; everything belongs here. This song will hold the space for you to receive. Trust it. Set an intention to... surrender to what is and welcome what appears."
