Armin van Buuren launches escape room in Amsterdam

Because, why not?

In news many people may not have been able to predict, Armin van Buuren is launching his own escape room in Amsterdam.

Set to open on Wednesday, October 16th, it will coincide with the impending release of his seventh artist album, 'Balance'.

The escape room will be themed around the new album and will give players the opportunity to, a press release explains, "unlock the hidden message of ‘Balance’ whilst simultaneously teasing songs from the album ahead of its full release on October 25".

"I’m a huge fan of escape rooms, so launching my own escape room in celebration of my new album ‘Balance’ is something I’m very excited about," van Buuren says. "I can’t wait to hear what you guys think of the album and the game, and I hope you can fully lose yourselves in the story of ‘Balance’. And that you manage to get out unscathed of course!”

The 'Balance' escape room will run for two weeks only, kicking off on the first day of this year's Amsterdam Dance Event. Groups ranging from four to six people can partake and you can book in a session by heading here.

A press release further explains the concept: "Based on Sherlocked’s award-winning heist experience The Vault, the ‘Balance’ escape room allows players to dive head first into Armin van Buuren’s brand-new album and its hidden message. Posing as music journalists, they need to gain access to a high-security vault complex in the heart of Amsterdam and solve numerous puzzles in order to discover what it takes to ensure success as an artist in the music industry today."

Last month, van Buuren shared 'Mr. Navigator', a new track which features on 'Balance'.

He was also recently confirmed to play the 2020 edition of Tomorrowland Winter.
