Avicii is less than one week away from officially releasing new tunes. The beloved Swedish megastar took to Twitter today (3rd August) to reveal his ‘Avīci’ EP is set to arrive Thursday 10th August at 4pm CET.
As noted by YourEDM, in Buddhism “Avīci” is the lowest level of “hell”; a realm in which the dead that have committed the gravest of misdeeds can be reborn. The reference is striking given Avicii’s tumultuous relationship with touring life and the extended release hiatus that is now finally coming to an end.
As both the EP’s title and release date differ from supposed insider information leaked in July, speculation will continue about a follow-up EP during 2017.
Earlier this week, Avicii dropped an additional teaser; however, an official track listing has yet to be revealed.
