A new Avicii podcast “from fans, for fans” is set to be launched.

The life and legacy of the late EDM DJ and producer, AKA Tim Bergling, is the main focus of the podcast, created by members of the official Avicii subreddit. Delving into Bergling's music, history and influence, as well as the Avicii community, the r/avicii Podcast will be released monthly.

As well as exclusive DJ mixes and interviews with guests, questions from the community will also be addressed in the new series, which has the motto: "This podcast is from fans - for fans". It will also explore topics such as mental health, Avicii-related news, and remixes.

In a post made on the Avicii subreddit, which has over 25,000 subscribers, the founders of the podcast announced its first episode and its desire for participation from the community: "As some of you may remember, there was an attempt some time ago to launch an r/avicii Podcast for this community. Due to scheduling commitments and implementation difficulties, it didn't work out back then, but the desire for a podcast remained..."

"After many months of planning and developing a concept, we are more than pleased to announce that the first episode of our monthly podcast will be released soon."

"And we want you to be a part of it. Are you a producer and would like to showcase your songs or mashups in our podcast? Is there a story from your life where Tim's music helped you that you'd like to share with us? Whatever it is, everything is allowed!"

A public Google Doc has been created for those interested in contributing to the podcast.

While an official release date for the first episode is to be announced, it will be free and available to stream via Mixcloud.

The news comes a month after an Avicii tribute concert hosted by the Tim Bergling Foundation took place at Stockholm's Avicii Arena - renamed from the Ericsson Globe in May 2021 after the late EDM DJ and producer.

The Tim Bergling Foundation is a suicide prevention and mental health organisation founded by Avicii’s parents following his death by suicide in 2018. In 2020, the organisation launched For A Better Day, a campaign exploring preventative measures relating to suicide and promoting conversations with young people about psychological wellbeing.

Last February, an immersive and interactive tribute to Avicii, The Avicii Experience exhibition, opened in Space Stockholm.
