Axwell on new Swedish House Mafia music: “of course” it’s happening

He said so in an interview with Annie Mac...

Swedish House Mafia’s Axwell has said that “of course” the trio are working on new music to perform on their forthcoming 2019 reunion tour.

He said as much in an interview with Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 last week as he debuted his new solo single, ‘Nobody Else’.

“It was time,” he told her. “Swedish House Mafia was a crazy machine that we just fell into. I don’t think we knew what we were doing, which is also really beautiful, but anyway. We had to spread our wings, do different things. And then now after five, six years the thought of being Swedish House Mafia again is exciting.

When asked if they would be working on new music, he simply responded, “Of course, it’s what we do”.

You can hear ‘Nobody Else’ and Axwell’s interview with Annie Mac below.

It has also been confirmed, after more mysterious teasers, that the trio will be headlining Creamfields 2019.  That show will be part of a world tour which kicks off in Stockholm on 4th May next year - one of three dates in the Swedish city. They’ve also confirmed shows in Mexico City and Tel Aviv.
