Aïsha Devi, Nkisi, Plaid, more locked for Madrid’s L.E.V. Festival

The festival will take place in October

Spanish promoters L.E.V. has shared the first round of names set to play this year's festival, its first in Madrid. 

Specialising in “the most cutting edge side of digital creativity”, L.E.V. festival will run from the 17th to the 20th of October at Centro de Creación Contemporánea Matadero Madrid.

The festival’s first edition in Matadero, having spent the past 13 years in the coastal city of Gijón, will see A/V shows , digital experiences and immersive performances taking place, with a specially designed section focused on digital composition and virtual worlds named VORTEX (VRTX).

Among the first names to be revealed is Houndstooth affiliate Aïsha Devi, who will perform a live show at the venue’s Nave 16, an exhibition spaces with an immersive sound system designed by d&b audiotechnik.

Also performing at this year's L.E.V. is NON Worldwide co-founder and purveyor of trance-inducing rhythms Nkisi, who presents her new A/V show, ‘Initation’, a collaboration with artist Charlie Hope. UK duo and Warp affiliates Plaid will also return with their Polymer A/V show, with more performances courtesy of Glasgow’s Sega Bodega and Japanese artist Ryoichi Kurokawa.
