BATACLAN ISSUES FIRST STATEMENT FOLLOWING ATTACK

The Paris venue thanks fans for support

The owners of Paris' Bataclan venue, one of the sites struck by Friday's horrific terrorist attacks, have issued their first official statement since the incident.

“No words suffice to express the magnitude of our grief,” the concert hall said on Facebook and Twitter. “Our thoughts go to the victims, to the wounded, and to their loved ones.”

“Many of you have wanted to gather in remembrance at the Bataclan. Unfortunately, the authorities still need to work at the site," they added.

"We will keep you informed about when it will be possible to assemble in front of the hall. We thank you for your support, which touches us profoundly.”

89 people were killed when the historic concert hall, that was built during the reign of Emperor Napoleon III, was attacked by Islamic extremists on Friday evening.

RBMA and many other live music venues have been indefinitely closed.
