Beatport has revealed its list of the best selling tracks of 2018.

Taking in an overall top 100, as well as individual genre charts, the lists have been put together from music available on the website, including the 1.3 million tracks that were made newly available via the download service over the course of 2018.

‘Losing It’, a tech house track by Australian DJ and producer Fisher, was the website’s best selling track of 2018, having been released during the height of the summer. It spent ten weeks on the top spot in the overall Beatport Top 100.

The runners-up were also tech house tracks with CamelPhat’s remix of the Fatboy Slim classic ‘Right Here, Right Now’ and Andrew Meller’s ‘Reincarnation Mix’ of Underworld’s ‘Born Slippy’ taking second and third place respectively.

Drumcode makes an appearance in fourth place via a collaboration between label head Adam Beyer and Bart Skils on ‘Your Mind’. Tale Of Us’ remix of Energy 52’s classic ‘Cafe Del Mar’ rounds out the top five.

Toolroom, the label which released CamelPhat’s remix of ‘Right Here, Right Now’ was the best-selling label on Beatport in 2018 (with five releases featured in the top 100), while imprints such as Drumcode, Defected, Diynamic and Cocoon also made multiple dents inside the top 100.

The site has also revealed that more than one track was sold every two seconds over the course of the year while approximately 6545 years of track previews were streamed by users. Continuing on from its dominance of 2017’s Beatport charts, techno was the overall best selling genre, with tech house in second place and house in third.

In November last year, Beatport launched the next edition of its Beats In School initiative which aims to uncover new and unsigned talent, while last summer, the website launched its new Hype Charts feature which focuses on supporting independent and up-and-coming labels and artists.

Fisher’s ‘Losing It’ was also named the most-played track of Tomorrowland 2018 last summer.
