Berghain is getting a new floor this March

And abstract sounds are on the menu...

Berghain is opening a new floor next month with the opening weekend locked for 23rd and 24th March.

The famous Berlin-based venue currently consists of two club areas, Panorama Bar and Berghain, with the new floor set to be titled Säule - the German word for pillar.

Situated directly under the Berghain dancefloor, the new floor will play host to darker, weirder and more abstract electronic sounds than Berghain’s current two spaces.

With the launch weekend set for the end of March, Säule will officially kick off with Mannequin Records signees Alessandro Adriani, Deena Abdelwahed and Natalia Escobar, while upstairs Berghain will host sets from Dis Fig, Illum Sphere and Laura Clock.

Berghain made headlines last summer when door staff rejected TV host Conan O’Brien, who tried to enter the club as part of a TV segment for his late-night American talkshow.
