Black Artist Database and MOKO announce Hurricane Beryl fundraiser event

Black Artist Database (B.A.D) and Moko have teamed up to raise funds for grassroots organisations providing relief in the Caribbean in the wake of Hurricane Beryl.

The six-hour event will take place on 20th July at Moko Tottenham and feature sets from T Dunn, Seb Odyssey, Isaac Carter, YNG CPTN, Ellaweez and more. Additional names are still to be announced on the line-up, alongside several secret surprise guests.

Hurricane Beryl, a Category 5 Atlantic hurricane, has devastated parts of the Caribbean, the Yucatan Peninsula and the US Gulf Coast over the past week. 28 fatalities have been reported, with many more left homeless, without power or in shelter in temporary accommodation as the cost of damages has reached $6 billion.

"This isn’t just a party – it’s a mission! Every ticket, every dance move, and every donation goes straight to grassroots heroes on the ground, working tirelessly to rebuild and restore the beautiful Caribbean. If you can’t make it buy a ticket anyway!"

MOKO opened in Tottenham last year as a sister venue to Nathanael Williams' and Bradley Zero's Peckham-based listening bar, JUMBI, which opened in 2022. Revisit DJ Mag's interview with Williams as part of our feature exploring the future of London clubbing here.

In April, Black Artist Database released the second instalment of its 'Synergy' compilation series, 'Synergy Vol. 2', which featured productions from the likes of CARISTAYazzusOlive TJurangoEhua, among others.
