Blanka Mazimela releases new EP, ‘Kare Kare’, on Kunye: Listen

Blanka Mazimela has released a new EP, ‘Kare Kare’, via DJ Shimza’s Kunye label. Listen below. 

Following releases on Get Physical music and MoBlack Records, the Cape Town-based DJ and producer returns with two cuts of euphoric, peak-time Afro house, accompanied by a remix from Keinemusik affiliate David Mayer. 

Speaking on the themes channelled into the EP’s title track, Mazimela said: "Remember old days, years ago, our parents used to work on the farms, planting and ploughing for a living. When life was peaceful and everyone ate organic food. ‘Kare Kare’ refers to those past times" 

‘Lelle’ takes a deeper route than the anthemic title track, but packs no less of a punch with its rolling drums, earthy bass rumbles and hypnotic keys.
