BOSE LAUNCH BUILD-YOUR-OWN DIY SPEAKER CUBE

The BOSEbuild product is aimed at kids young and old...

BOSE have launched a build-it-yourself DIY Bluetooth speaker called the Speaker Cube, which forms part of the educational BOSEbuild program.

It teaches audio enthusiasts how the inside of a speaker works whilst also allowing them to fully customise the casing’s covers and lights. The Speaker Cube uses high-quality parts for durability as well as shipping with step-by-step instructions and a free companion app, which explains everything from how a magnet and coil makes sound to how the speaker reproduces the music.

Speaking about the Speaker Cube, Bob Maresca, CEO and president of Bose, said, “Dr. Bose was fascinated with electric trains when he was very young. He learned how they worked by taking them apart and putting them back together, and he had that same insatiable curiosity throughout his entire life.

“That spirit is still at the heart of Bose. And it’s a great example of what we’d like BOSEbuild to offer – fun and relatable ways for kids to make something they really want and can use for years to come, while learning about the incredible science and technology behind it.”
