Cakes Da Killa announces new album, 'Black Sheep', shares 'Mind Reader': Listen

Cakes Da Killa has a new album on the way, titled 'Black Sheep'.

Set for release on 22nd March via TOKiMONSTA's Young Art Records, the 11-track release sees the New York rapper reunited with collaborator Sam Katz, who also produced 2022 project 'Svengali'. The new record is said to explore Cakes Da Killa's native New York in detail, from "the clubs of Manhattan to the back blocks of Brooklyn".

Vocalists Dawn Richard, Wuhryn Dumas and Stout all appear across 'Black Sheep', with the latter artist contributing guest vocals to lead track 'Mind Reader', which you can watch a video for below.

The album's title references Cakes Da Killa's feeling that he has never landed comfortably in one specific scene, with questions around his identity and place as a queer rapper having long surrounded him within the music industry.

The announcement of 'Black Sheep' follows on from the rapper last year releasing 'Bring It Back', a track with HoneyLuv.
