Calvin Harris drops two 90s-inspired tracks : Listen

'CP-1' and 'Hypnagogic (I Can't wait)' are the first tracks under his new moniker 'Love Regenerator'

After announcing his new moniker, Love Regenerator, DJ and producer Calvin Harris has shared the first two tracks from the new project, 'CP-1' and 'Hypnagogic (I Can't Wait)' .

Speaking about the project, Harris said: "'Hypnagogic (I Can’t Wait)' and ‘CP-1’ are the first tracks from my new project Love Regenerator. I wanted to rediscover the way I originally began producing music 22 years ago before I ever thought about how it might be perceived by outside forces. Just pure fun and experimentation with what sounded good to me. The records are inspired by early rave, breaks, techno and house, the music I was obsessed with growing up. In fact, I’ve done everything I can to make them sound like they’ve come from a 1991 time capsule. Every synth and sound used is from that time period."

Listen to both tracks, and watch the video for 'CP-1', below.

A new edition of the lead single from his second album 'Ready For The Weekend' was released in April 2019, and featured remixes from CamelPhat and Thomas Schumacher. This new Love Regenerator project will mark the first new music we've heard since then.

The news comes after the Scottish producer launched a new show with new stage production last Summer, and more recently has hinted on Twitter that new music is on the way, after a fan asked if there would be any Calvin Harris merchandise available at Coachella.

Calvin Harris will join the likes of Disclosure, Peggy Gou, Daphni, DJ Koze and Yaeji at Coachella 2020

Harris was amongst the nominees for a BRIT Award.
