Carl Cox has officially confirmed he will be returning to Glastonbury Festival this year, playing the Glade stage on Friday 23rd June.

Cox shared the news in response to a fan's comment on Facebook on Wednesday 17th May, asking if he would be playing. His reply read: “Yes I will be playing on Friday night and the Glade stage”.

Cox has a track record of announcing his appearance at Worthy Farm through social media. Last year, the legendary DJ self-confirmed his presence at Glastonbury Festival to fans before an official announcement and shared the entire Arcadia line-up poster before its planned release.

Since 2016, Cox has established himself as a regular fixture at the Festival. Last year, he played a jungle set alongside Chase and Status at the Arcadia stage, which saw the elaborate 50-ton, firebreathing Spider stage design for the first time since 2018. In the same year, he also played on Saturday at Glade & Eric Powell's mobile disco.

This year’s Glastonbury Festival, set to take place between 21 and 25th June, will see Cox play alongside The Chemical Brothers, DJ Flight, Elkka, Dr Banana, SHERELLE, VTSS, Hybrid Minds (ft Tempza), Shy FX (ft Stamina MC) and MK, at the Arcadia stage.

As the festival draws near with just under 40 days left, more line-up announcements from various stages and areas are expected in the upcoming weeks.

It’s lining up to be a busy year for Carl Cox. Earlier this month, it was announced he would play Brunch Electronik Festival Barcelona, alongside Underworld and Boyz Noise b2b VTSS. In March, he announced a headline set at Egypt’s Great Pyramids of Giza, as well as a special Hybrid Live show at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheatre

Last July, Carl Cox was DJ Mag’s cover star. You can read the full feature here.
