The Chainsmokers surprise drop new track, 'The One'

Duo's new album is out 7th April...

The Chainsmokers are gearing up for the release of their debut album, 'Memories...Do Not Open', with a brand-new single called 'The One'.

Debuted by Zane Lowe earlier today, the song is about two things according to the duo. Firstly, how they're "missing out on memories and moments with our friends and families" due to the overnight success of tracks like 'Closer', and secondly, it's about "knowing a relationship is just over and isn't working out but being too scared to end it".

Deep stuff, then.

The track itself is a full blown ballad of sorts that marks a sizeable shift away from the duo's more tongue-and-cheek EDM output and has been released alongside a new Snapchat filter.

The Chainsmokers' debut album 'Memories...Do Not Open', which drops on Friday 7th April, features collaborations with Jhene Aiko, Florida Georgia Line, Emily Warren and Louane, as well as a track with UK rock group, Coldplay.

The duo will embark on a 40-city North American tour to support the album's release, dates for which can be found here.
