In the second of a new feature series, we ask top DJs to describe their first experiences at the one and only Cocoon in Ibiza. Stepping up to the plate this week is Cocoon regular, Subb-An. Read what happened on his first outing to Amnesia for Cocoon...

"I remember the first time I went to Cocoon around 11 years ago. I had watched a video set of Sven Väth playing from the club on a DVD that came with the compilation CD. After watching it, I knew I had to go.

"Only two weeks later, I was there having it out with my mates. What a night! It's funny because I don't remember all of it, but I remember seeing Pete Tong in the DJ booth — standing on the side, when the booth used to be raised in Amnesia. Somehow I got his attention, threw a CD up at him and he caught it — I was stoked! Being seventeen and going to Cocoon was amazing; the vibe, the music, the ice canons, the dancers. It was fantastic as a raver and for me now it's fantastic to see it from the other side as a DJ.

"Amnesia is certainly one of my favourite clubs in the world to rave and to DJ, and paired with Cocoon, it creates an electric vibe. The sound system in both rooms is really on point and both the terrace and the main room are amazing in their own ways. I’m specifically a huge fan of the terrace; watching Ricardo Villalobos play on there as it's getting light is like nothing else in this world!"
