Danny Brown announces new album on Warp Records, ‘uknowhatimsayin¿’
It features Flying Lotus and Q-Tip
Danny Brown has announced a new album, titled ‘uknowhatimsayin¿’.
Set for release via Warp Records on October 16th, the album is executive produced by Q-Tip and also takes in production from Flying Lotus, Paul White, Standing On The Corner and JPEGMAFIA. Run The Jewels, Blood Orange and Obongjayar also provide guest appearances.
"This is my version of a stand-up comedy album," Brown says. "Most of my close friends now aren't rappers—they're comedians and actors. So I wanted to create something that mixed humor with music. Something that was funny but not parody."
"There was no room for error. Q-Tip wanted me to go back to that 'Greatest Rapper Ever' era. I almost had to relearn how to rap again—an ego death type thing."
‘uknowhatimsayin¿’ follows on from Brown's previous album, 'Atrocity Exhibition', which came out through Warp Records in 2016. You can see the cover for the new album below as well as a video for lead track 'Dirty Laundry'.
