Dawn Wall returns with melancholy liquid cut, 'Mantis': Premiere

The mystery continues with the 'Twin Falls' EP...

Dawn Wall drop a fifth EP for Artificial Intelligence's Integral Records this month, and we've secured a sublime, little taster in the form of 'Mantis'.

Since emerging onto the scene back in 2015, the identity of Dawn Wall has been one of the most talked about mysteries in the drum & bass scene.

Supposedly the act is formed of more than one person, and is a new alias for veteran producers rather than a new kid on the block — with one of Lomax, Sub Focus, AI, Original Sin, Fresh and Rob Swire seemingly confirmed by popular d&b site Skankandbass.

Whoever it may be, Dawn Wall have released some of the most finely crafted productions of the last two years, primarily focussing in on liquid, although also dabbling in tougher sounds.

Today's premiere, 'Mantis', finds Dawn Wall in a melancholy mood, blending descending keys with rolling percussion, lush pads, eerie vocal chops and a gruff b-line, for an all-round absorbing, cerebral experience.

Listen to 'Mantis' in below and grab a copy of the full 'Twin Falls' EP here from 21st April.
