Daytimers commence four-week Phonox residency this week

Daytimers' four-week residency at London's Phonox kicks off tonight, Friday 4th August.

Each party in the series, which take place every Friday this month, will feature a guest collective "run by and for marginalised communities in dance music". This starts with a collaboration with London crew Dreamnights, bringing amapiano, Afro house, and deep tech to the venue this evening. Jotham, Karen Nyame KG, Louise G, Magic EKJ, Samrai, Sarith, and Works of Intent all feature on the bill.

Next week, on 11th August, South London team Prestige Pak arrive, bringing a line-up that includes Lagoon Femshayma, Lil C and Handsome Rob. LatinX collective SUZIO then stop in on 18th August, with Bushbby, Baby Cocada, and Chandé on the bill.

Nasha Experience, known for marrying South Asian samples with bass sounds from dubstep to drum & bass, arrive on 25th August. Artists including mixtress, Sukh Knight and Izzi are among the names confirmed to play.

This is the second time Daytimers have taken over Phonox in 2023. The crew, who spotlight UK creatives of South Asian heritage, threw a party at the club back in March.

In June, members joined Manara, Zaleel, Saint Ludo and more at Rich Mix, East London, for an event run by Nijjor Manush — an independent campaign group for Bengalis and Bangladeshis in Britain. The party raised money for the Save Brick Lane campaign, which aims to challenge the approval of a new shopping mall at the Truman Brewery.
