DEADMAU5 TO HOST ONLINE MUSIC PRODUCTION MASTERCLASS

“I’ve never done something at this depth before”...

Deadmau5 has announced that he will host an online electronic music production tutorial through MasterClass, a company that boasts Usher and Werner Herzog as instructors.

The course is said to offer an “unabashed and unfiltered lesson” into how Deadmau5, real name Joel Zimmerman, makes his powerful sound, as well as an insight into his approaches to making melodies, mixing and mastering.

Speaking about the online tutorial in a press release, Zimmerman said, “My MasterClass is a no bullshit look into what it takes to make great music, and it’s not just buying millions of dollars’ worth of gear. I’m going to show my students how to play with sounds and mix melodies they can share with the world. I’ve never done something at this depth before.”

You can enroll for the tutorial via the MasterClass website and watch a trailer for the online tutorial below.

Earlier this month Deadmau5 revealed that his new full-length record, ‘W:/2016ALBUM/’, will be released on Friday 2nd December via his mau5trap imprint, before giving Pete Tong the exclusive play of ‘4ware’ from it on his BBC Radio 1 show.

That was after a remix collection of Zimmerman’s ‘Strobe’ dropped in September, which was quickly followed by his own ebortS remix of the track being made available for free on Twitter.
