Denon DJ add WiFi and streaming to Prime range

The new version 1.4 adds streaming, plus new features for the entire Prime range

Denon DJ have announced a new firmware update for their Prime range. The update includes adding both WiFi and wired internet to their Prime 4 controller and media player, enabling it to stream directly from TiDAL. The release of the firmware comes off the back of Denon DJ's announcement earlier this year that their hardware would soon support streaming from various sources. Beatport have already been announced as a streaming source, with their LINK platform.

The update also includes some new improved features for the SC5000M unit – Denon DJ's landmark media player – including the ability to preview tracks directly from the browser without loading them onto the deck, and improved zone play on the Prime 4, letting users send music or a playlist to a separate area from a single unit. It's now possible to crossfade between tracks and playlists using the zone output.

Loop in and out points can now be adjusted and there's also improved quantised triggering, search speed and improved rekordbox integration. The update is available now for free from Denon DJ's website
