Ahead of this weekend's Movement festival in Detroit, the city's Mayor Mike Duggan has declared this week "Detroit Techno Week" once again.
The declaration aims to pay tribute to the birthplace of techno and Duggan hopes it will see the city's residents “come out and celebrate the festivities, as it creates local and international awareness of Detroit’s rising creative culture.”
Movement Festival is set to take place at the city's Hart Plaza this weekend where the likes of Richie Hawtin, Deadmau5 (performing under his Testpilot guise) and Carl Cox will be headlining the festival alongside local heroes Carl Craig, Mike Huckaby and Juan Atkins.
