DIPLO: ‘DJ CULTURE IS A SINKING SHIP’

The Major Lazer producer also says he’s sad to be a part of it...

Diplo has revealed his disdain for DJ culture in a new interview, saying it’s “corny” and that he’s “sad” to be a part of it.

In the interview with Billboard, the Major Lazer producer, real name Wesley Pentz, didn’t hold back when quizzed on the state of dance music. He said, “The DJ world is the corniest fucking group of people. We're not famous for any good reason. We're just really lame.

“Besides people like Dillon Francis, who makes fun of the whole thing, or Calvin Harris, it's a sinking ship. It's a really lame culture. I'm sad that I'm part of it, but I play the game."

The interview also revealed that Diplo’s ability to “play the game” that he’s “sad” to be a part of earned the 37-year-old a cool $15 million in 2015, according to Forbes.

Diplo attacked David Guetta with DJ Snake last month (May) for plagiarising their hit, ‘Lean On’, with ‘This One’s For You’. He also teased new Jack Ü material is “coming soon” in a tweet on the same day (16th May) that was quickly deleted. That was all after it was revealed Diplo and his Jack Ü partner Skrillex hate croutons.
