Diplo finally confirms plans to start recording with Skrillex as Jack Ü again

But only after the new Skrillex and Major Lazer albums are done...

Diplo has finally confirmed that he and Skrillex will going into the studio together to work on new music and hopefully the follow-up to 2015’s ‘Skrillex and Diplo: Present Jack Ü’.

The bad news is they won’t be going into the studio together until Skrillex finishes his new album and Diplo finishes working on the new Major Lazer album.

During an interview with Argentinian La Nacion, Diplo said: “Skrillex is working on a new album. I think that after that and the new album that we are preparing with Major Lazer, we will make music together again.”

Previously, Diplo had stated that a new Jack Ü album would be difficult due to the fact that Skrillex is signed to a major label — something Diplo struggles to work with.

“The thing with Jack Ü is complicated, because of Atlantic. Skrillex is signed to that label and it’s difficult to do anything with that. I hate major labels, so I don’t really want to do anything with major labels. So it’s hard.”

The duo’s debut album was one of 2015’s biggest albums and bagged the duo a Grammy each for Best Dance Recording and Best Dance/Electronic Album.

Whether the duo plans to actually release a new album still remains unclear, but considering the success of their debut, and Diplo’s acknowledgement that they will be making a new music again soon, a new album does seem a lot more likely than it previously did.
